Skilling Women, Empowering Communities

Author/s: Vanuatu TVET

The Vanuatu Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centres aim to raise the status of women in Vanuatu through customised training and small business development services to support women’s economic empowerment. The participation of women in skills development is key to achieving national economic growth and improved livelihoods. In late 2013, the TVET Sector Strengthening Program entered into a partnership with the Pacific Women Vanuatu initiative which includes additional funding to promote women’s economic development, with a particular emphasis on increasing their participation in the tourism industry. The DVD “Skilling Women, Empowering Communities” demonstrates the possibilities for women’s empowerment.
