Roadmap to Guide Pacific Women Programming

Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development (Pacific Women) is developing a roadmap to guide its future investments in its first three outcomes: i) women’s economic empowerment, ii) women’s leadership and decision-making, and iii) ending violence against women. The roadmap builds on experience to-date and will support inclusive development, partnerships with Pacific and international organisations, existing good practice and transparent funding decisions.

The roadmap will primarily focus on regional and multi-country programs, as individual country plans have been developed – in close consultation with Pacific women and men, their organisations and national governments – to identify which activities will be funded in each country.  However, it is also expected that the roadmap will help to inform future country plans.

The roadmap will be developed through a combination of literature review, comprehensive stakeholder consultations, and in-depth analysis. The document will examine current programs in each thematic area, identify gaps in services, highlight promising practices and support advocacy, evidence creation and capacity development. Where relevant, the roadmap will also identify new and innovative opportunities for investment.

The roadmap will be finalised by the end of the year and will be a supplement to the Pacific Women Design Document and country plans.

Pacific Women is seeking your feedback to help add a diversity of perspectives to the roadmap through a questionnaire. The short questionnaire, which has just nine questions, is available on the Pacific Women website for the next three weeks (till 21 September). Download the Word document, add in your thoughts, and return to Charmaine Rodrigues:, who will collate your responses.
