CALL FOR FUNDING – Fiji Women’s Fund

The Fiji Women’s Fund (the Fund) is an initiative of the Australian Government’s Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development (Pacific Women) Program.  The Fund supports women’s groups, network and organisations in Fiji to expand and enhance their work on women’s empowerment and gender equality.  The Fund is inviting women’s groups, networks and organisations in Fiji to submit an expression of interest on one or more of the following priority areas:

  • Empowering women through increased economic opportunities
  • Eliminating violence against women
  • Improving women’s participation in leadership and decision making
  • Strengthening women’s groups and coalitions for change.

The Fund has three types of grants: Type A (FJ$150,000 or more) a multiyear funding with contribution to core funding; Type B (FJ$50,000 – 150,000) a one-year funding with contribution to core funding; Type C (FJ$5,000 – 50,000) grants can be less than one year.  Applications are limited to women’s groups, networks and organisations that are based in Fiji that:

  • are governed and led by women, filling the majority of leadership positions
  • have a clear commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment
  • are open to working with diverse groups and issues regardless of ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, disability
  • have worked in a group for at least one year
