The Pacific Community (SPC) is the principal scientific and technical organisation in the Pacific region, supporting development since 1947. The Regional Rights Resource Team (RRRT) of SPC was established in 1995 and has been a pioneer in providing human rights capacity-building, research, policy, legal and technical assistance in the Pacific region. RRRT’s mission is to advance human rights and good governance standards for the sustainable and equitable development of the region and the benefit of all Pacific peoples.
RRRT is working with each of the target countries to develop Readers for primary and secondary school about inspirational country-specific stories/ people from diverse social, ethnic, linguistic, geographic, economic and physical backgrounds that depict that human rights, gender equality and social inclusion are also aspects of culture. RRRT is seeking quotations for a Reader’s consultant to:
- Ensure the language of the stories (for all 3 countries) as written in English are age-appropriate;
- Design in the English language for each age-appropriate reader questions and activities that fulfill the following:
- Test for comprehension and literacy whilst ensuring the,
- Integration of and alignment to principles of human rights, gender equality, social inclusion and ending violence against women and girls.
