In the July 2019 issue of Hadibaiatok, the Family and Sexual Violence Action Committee (FSVAC) features a story on male advocacy guide in development. The two-day consultation workshop to finalise the guide was also a refresher opportunity for FSVAC community-based advocates.
Other stories in this issue include: a four-day training for police in Southern Highlands province; walk to Parliament led by the Human Rights Defenders Association of Papua New Guinea; and FSVAC outreach at the National La Sallian gathering held from 31 June–3 July.
The FSVAC of the Consultative Implementation and Monitoring Council is supported by the Government of Papua New Guinea in partnership with the Australian Government through Pacific Women. The support provided through Pacific Women seeks to strengthen the organisation to deliver its mandate of developing policy, influencing and monitoring government decision making related to the problems associated with family and sexual violence and to develop concrete ways of addressing them.
