The sixth Annual Learning Workshop of Pacific Women in Papua New Guinea is being held over five days, from 2-6 August.
The event is for Pacific Women-funded and non-funded partners to come together and discuss their work and research. Participants will also share lessons about what is working, the challenges and the opportunities for promoting gender equality in PNG and the Pacific.
The Annual Learning Workshop’s format this year will involve people participating both in person and virtually via online conferencing.
The virtual broadcast will be hosted at the Grand Papua Hotel, Port Moresby, with four satellite venues that participants can visit to watch live, in: Buka, Goroka, Lae, and Wewak.
Over the five days of the workshop, there will be panel discussions each morning then, in the afternoon, concurrent sessions that are either interactive presentations or skills workshops.
Panel discussions in the morning will focus on different topics including women’s political leadership, women’s economic empowerment particularly in the context of #COVID19 and, the survivor-centred approach to gender-based violence (GBV) case management.
The Pacific Women program is supported by the Australian Government through the #PNGAusPartnership.
