Pacific Women Papua New Guinea Annual Learning Workshop 2021

The sixth Annual Learning Workshop of the Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development (Pacific Women) program in Papua New Guinea was held from Monday 2 to Friday 6 August 2021.

The workshop report is now available and can be downloaded by clicking here or the button below.

The Annual Learning Workshop provided an opportunity for Pacific Women-funded and non-funded partners to come together to discuss their work and research and to share lessons about what is working, the challenges, and the opportunities for promoting gender equality in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific.

The workshop also provided an update on activities, research, innovation, and good practice undertaken by Pacific Women and its partners since it began in 2012 in the areas of increasing women’s leadership and decision-making, increasing economic opportunities for women, and reducing violence against women and expanding support services.

Highlights of the 2021 workshop were the sessions including members of the Special Parliamentary Committee on Gender Based Violence, and the panel discussing temporary special measures to increase women’s political representation and the experiences of women as parliamentary candidates. The high quality of panellists, presenters and moderators were highly valued by participants.

Recordings of the workshop sessions can be viewed via this YouTube playlist or the embedded video below:
